December 5, 2025 — VCA Wrestling stepped onto the mat with only half a roster but a full heart, facing Imagine Prep Surprise in what became a defining moment for the young program. The final score read 54–24, in favor of Imagine Prep Surprise, but numbers alone could not measure the grit, fire, and resilience VCA displayed. For a first-year program still building its ranks, the performance was nothing short of remarkable.![]()

In the girls division, Trinity “Josie” Kraklow claimed a forfeit victory, preserving her undefeated record and standing tall as one of VCA’s rising stars. On the boys side, Bently Arnold, Jacob McKean, and Logan Hunt also remained unbeaten, delivering the most electrifying battles of the night.![]()

These four athletes make up the core of what VCA calls the Elite—a select brotherhood and sisterhood of competitors tasked with leading through honor, discipline, and example. They are the program’s special forces, carrying the weight of expectation and the burden of every challenger seeking to topple them. With targets on their backs and pride in their hearts, they meet each test with sharpened skill and unwavering courage. They train to master their bodies, their emotions, and their craft until certainty replaces doubt.![]()

Bently accepted an exhibition challenge from a returning state placer—a seasoned powerhouse hunting for another statement win. What followed looked less like a match and more like a strategic masterpiece. Bently deployed a daring game plan crafted from the lessons of an old mentor, opening with a storm of probing movements to test reactions and expose weaknesses.![]()

The match evolved into a tactical chess game: every attack had a counterattack, every feint an answer. The two wrestlers engaged in a fierce, fluid dance where one misstep could mean defeat. The gym felt the tension shift with every exchange. And then, in a breathtaking surge of momentum, Bently broke through—securing a major tech that rolled seamlessly into a pin. The crowd erupted. The night also carried a moment of pure inspiration from Tanner Ecklor, who claimed the first victory of his career.![]()

Wrestling, like life, guarantees adversity. It demands perseverance, humility, and the courage to rise after every fall. Tanner embodied all of it. With his back against the wall and a relentless opponent tossing him like a rag doll, Tanner refused to fold. He reached deep, steadied himself, and delivered a stunning comeback—taking his opponent straight to the mat for the pin. The entire team exploded with celebration.![]()
