I grew up with a nice Christian upbringing in Flagstaff and lived there for 20
years. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education through NAU’s Extended
Campus program in Prescott. I did my student teaching in 3rd grade and after I
graduated, I accepted a 3rd grade position at Humboldt Elementary in Dewey,
where I taught for 3 years (two of those years in 3rd grade and one year in
kindergarten). I have been married for 10 years to my husband, Bill, and we have
2 precious daughters. After our first daughter was born, I took a break from
teaching to raise our girls and enjoy being a mom.
I felt led by God to go back to teaching at a Christian school. God presented
this amazing opportunity at VCA and I gladly accepted the 3rd grade teaching
position! Our daughters will also be attending VCA this fall. I believe this is my
calling and where God wants me to be. My passion has always been teaching
children. I feel blessed and honored to have the role and freedom to share the
love of Christ with children and watch their relationships with Christ grow and
mature.
Besides teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going on
day trips and little adventures, walking, swimming, scrapbooking, photography,
attending Sunday services and participating in church groups and events.
