Lorie is a San Diego native and a beach girl through and through. Lorie taught at Barbizon School of Modeling in San Diego from 1986 – 1993. She also worked as the Assistant Publicity Director for San Diego Bullocks department stores during that time period. In 1986, Lorie developed Etiquette and Poise classes for girls ages 6 -18, teaching those in both southern California and Arizona Department stores and independently for over 25 years.  Lorie earned her B.A., with an emphasis in Education, from San Diego State University and her teaching credential from Chapman University, Orange, CA.  Lorie began teaching at VCA in 2001. She taught second grade here for 11 years.   Her daughter, Blair, attended VCA from Kindergarten through 6th grade, as well. In 2012, Lorie moved to northern California to reunite with and marry her high school sweetheart. While in California, Lorie taught 1st grade at Woodland Christian School for 8 years. Lorie also served as lead teacher and mentor teacher in K-2 grades. God has called Lorie to return to the Verde Valley and VCA along with her husband and step son. She is excited to be back.
